【The Martyrs’ Shrine and Love Observatory】

Shoushan Love Observatory, located just in front of the Martyrs’ Shrine, was officially opened recently in 2012. It is a tranquil resting spot at the mountain and offers a magnificent view of the port, the buildings, and the scenery in Kaohsiung.



【The British Consulate at Takow】

The British Consulate at Takow as a site is consist of the Residence (on the hill), the Consulate Office (under the hill) and the connecting trail path. They were designed and the construction supervised by the British Royal Engineers, and were completed in 1879.

【Lotus Pond】

Lotus Pond is located on the east side of Zouying district, Kaohsiung City. The lotus flowers bloom every summer has given it the name “Lotus Pond.” The pond is surrounded by willow trees, area of 75 hectares, also an area of temples like Confucius Temple, Spring Autumn Pavilion and Dragon and Tiger Tower.



Weiwuying National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts

National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts is designed Dutch architectural firm Mecanoo. The center is currently being built in a 9.9 hectares of land covering 3.3 hectares of floor area. The design of the center was inspired by the banyan trees around the area. The center will house four indoor venues, which are the Lyric Theater, Concert Hall, Playhouse and Recital Hall. The pipe organ in the concert hall is manufactured by Johannes Klais Orgelbau. With 9,194 pipes, this will be the grandest organ in Asia. It is now the largest art avenue in the world.
